As a trained chef and self-confessed foodie, it was only natural that Amanda, owner of Saucisse, would forge a career around this passion. Her love for food took her all over the world and into various food-related jobs – but the life-long dream to own and run her own eatery persisted.
Inspired by the hands-on, family-run boulangeries and charcuteries of France and Italy, the Saucisse concept was born. Amanda and her dad, Derrick, set to work to find the perfect space and location for Saucisse. The idea was to marry the intimacy, authentic customer service and flexibility of these traditional eateries with a proudly South African quest to source, stock and promote our fantastic SA local produce.
Situated in the heart of trendy Woodstock’s The Old Biscuit Mill Saucisse opened its doors in 2010. Amanda, Derrick and the beaming Saucisse staff have been pleasing taste-buds ever since!
